Day 20 of 30-Days of Running to Rediscovering Freedom

Posted by

We caught the red-eye back to Toronto on Oct 1. Su and I separated on the way from the airport. One might imagine it to be a hard separation after the incredible 14 days, but we were way too tired to feel a thing. I can barely remember how I got home.

Yogesh cooked me some breakfast before I crashed for five straight hours. When I woke up, the first thing that hit me was that I needed to fulfil the “20th day” of the challenge. Yogi joined me this time.

October 01, 2016. 20th day of the challenge.

We went by the waterfront of Toronto. There might not be many mountains in Ontario, but there is definitely no lack of water in this province. And we live (almost) right by it. One of our most frequent running/biking/walking routes is the Toronto waterfront trail, which is part of The Waterfront Trail.

Wikipedia: “The Waterfront Trail is made up of an interconnected series of trails mainly along the shores of Lake Ontario in Canada, beginning in Niagara-on-the-LakeOntario and extending to BrockvilleOntario, with an extension along Former Highway 2, to the Quebec provincial border. Through Toronto, the trail is called the Martin Goodman Trail. The Waterfront Trail is also used by commuters in parts of Southern Ontario.”

The lake here is a little busier that the ones in Alberta.

The water of lake Ontario is not “emerald” like that of all the glacial lakes we had seen in the past two weeks, but on a sunny day, the water looks quite blue.  On this particular day, the gloomy grey clouds overshadowed the water.

Look, a fellow runner!

I have biked through this trail at least a 100 times (no exaggeration here), but I am still not a bit bored of it.
